What is Propaganda ???
Propaganda is
information, ideas, opinions, or images, often only giving one part of an argument, that are broadcast, published, or in some other way spread with the intention of influencing people's opinions
from https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/propaganda-tend to use it for consistency.
Is this propaganda???
It should be KNOWN Canada wasn’t welcomed into AUKUS; there were debates about why we weren’t asked when it was established. Does it matter if we still ASK to join? The Americans, Australians and British ALREADY made it clear they don’t want us. Have we done something outstanding since meriting our membership? Is it a big deal?
Is this really a news’ story or just a portrayal of our importance: WE CAN KEEP CHINA IN CHECK.
How? Why? Isn’t this writing just revealing bureaucrats (or somebody) are trying to do something?
I would say it’s propaganda because it’s not a critical assessment of AUKUS. Context? Why do we want to join? What’s the big deal about AUKUS? Besides making the government look good, the article doesn’t actually say much.
No disrespect to China (I do not think the Chinese are reading this, just don’t want Canadians to misinterpret anything like I dislike China, or the US).
Maybe this is propaganda, the piece says a lot:
I have no mainstream evidence to counter Zivo.
I follow Moss Robeson because of his coverage of n$#@; originally, he wrote about Bandera statues on the Prairies for CBC. I can’t find the links anymore, nor to other written media stories about n$#@ in Canada or Ukraine, nor to t.v. clips about them nor to anyone else who covered the subject.
Though, n$#@ in Ukraine was covered in media for the decade prior to Russia’s Special Military Operation. In the press, on youtube, argued over in commentary.
(And, noticed by Amnesty International.)
Defensive writing is NOT context; defensive writing is the portrayal of bias—actually expected of an OPINION writer,
So, no, this is not propaganda? It’s opinion.
It’s not news. But, it’s kind of portrayed as news because there is no counter opinion; Zivo’s assumptions aren’t rebutted. Thoughts are portrayed as facts. As if there is no counter reality.
There is.
I actually think Adam Zivo is very clearly a propagandist.
There are no reporters in Ukraine, either side. I don’t know if embedded journalists qualify; can they investigate without bias? I don’t believe anything out of the country. I do know Ukraine has a problem with n$#@, and I wonder why that reality has been scrubbed from the internet.
Papers, radio, t.v—all pretend the previous’ decades media subject coverage did not happen.
It’s very weird.
Can news, analysis, or opinion occur without real context? History? If there, doesn’t that mean everything we read or see is propaganda?
I know there are n$#@ in Ukraine; I know the Special Military Operation began with de-n$#@ification as its purpose.
Strikes me, it’s a big deal to invest so much in a bias to pretend otherwise….
Similarly, with AUKUS and what’s going on with China. Why is membership such a big deal if it’s going to cost us money….(quick thought, does Canada have a Military Industrial Complex, too ?)
Maybe we need some reporters investigating on the ground? For us? We’re just getting made up stories, otherwise, and anyone can do that.
