Punishment!
This post begins with a press release from our Minister of Natural Resources on a recent trip to the UK: https://www.canada.ca/en/natural-resources-canada/news/2025/10/canada-strengthens-energy-and-resource-partnerships-with-the-united-kingdom.html. To quote: This gathering marked a significant milestone: all G7 countries have now officially named their envoys to the Alliance, underscoring a shared commitment to advancing collaboration on critical minerals. With the United Kingdom’s appointment of Minister McDonald, the G7 is poised to accelerate efforts toward delivering concrete outcomes at the upcoming G7 Energy and Environment Ministers’ Meeting on October 30–31, 2025.
It refers to a meeting held to solidify G7 trade relationships. And, I want to draw attention to 2 facts, 1/ the UK, like the US, is populated by People who have no money. and 2/ confirmation of the G7 as a trading block—so, with members like the broke UK, US and France, whose inhabitants have no money, and which agreement supports capital via the increase in share value in affiliated companies, and does not create Jobs.
Maybe this should have made the news rather than the bs about FTAs: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-10-16/imf-chief-says-canada-has-fiscal-room-to-boost-capital-spending?srnd=homepage-canada. The G7 States with Social Welfare programs are in better fiscal shape than those without. Even the business community sees Canada and Germany positively. Just makes light of the bias in our business media.
Better to have Healthy Workers available than have the State burdened with unemployable ill People.
Now 2 other things also made the news, yesterday. 1/ Our PM announced further trade deals with West Asia (I don’t care about with whom, my problem is with FTAs): https://www.thecanadianpressnews.ca/national/carney-talked-trade-with-gulf-countries-at-egypt-peace-summit/article_1a85420b-08e4-5653-bf23-38d8acf3b55a.html
Deals with oil rich West Asia strike me as odd, considering Alberta. Fine, if it stimulates Innovation but which appears unlikely because of the very unequal oil supply, and, secondly, contradictory in light of our treatment of China. Making us hypocrites?
Which, internationally, for which we are known.
Like I said PM Carney is very good with the show of standing up against DJT, but nonetheless signs deals with the perverted idiot.
Note, more liberalized trade consequently means news about prisons. I have often cited The Illusion of Free Markets by Bernard Harcourt, and watch for patterns. Oldest reference: link
Surprise, surprise: harsher bail reform and a show of PM Carney standing up to Criminality while FTAs are promulgated.
2/ https://www.thecanadianpressnews.ca/politics/carney-says-government-will-introduce-tougher-bail-sentencing-rules-next-week/article_0f768a4e-6e5f-5c4c-91ed-196be1d3dd8e.html, to quote: The legislation will make bail more difficult to get for a half-dozen violent and organized crime offences, Carney told a press conference in Etobicoke, Ont. Those offences include violent auto theft, break and enter, human trafficking, assault and sexual assault, and extortion.
We make deals with RICH rapists, but distract by going on about punishing the POOR ones. Double standard, much? Evident hypocrisy?
This is further illustration of the destruction of our reputation. PM Trudeau, like PM Harper, just led to isolation; bets are PM Carney is leading to bankruptcy. The more the guy talks about laws for us, the more he is avoiding responsibility for his fiscal choices.
