Different? No, Always the Same
Told you…the cons had an $87 BILLION dollar deficit in the 2010s. They are actually worse with money than the liberals.
And, Pierre Pollivere was in PM Harper’s government then: https://www.ourcommons.ca/members/en/pierre-poilievre(25524)/roles (scroll down to last point and date first elected, June 2004). He’s been in Parliament since he was 25 years old. For the Working man? Ha! He’s never actually worked, so, not quite. (not anti-con post, but PM Trudeau was a Drama Teacher, real job)
Anyhow
The big deal is NATO and the validity of our commitment to it. First, the cons never hit that 2% pledge either. So, NOW it is a big deal?
The actual issue is Ukraine and OUR involvement in a conflict without the Governor General’s approval.
The Americans, under guise of NATO, are directing a proxy war against Russia.
Ukraine is not, nor has ever been a NATO obligatory country, so, we invaded? Acted on America’s behalf? Are at war? The government gave the Ukrainians $10 BILLION dollars without Parliament’s approval—not that anyone would have debated it, but still. Ukraine’s support was UNANIMOUS, but under what legislation? On whose authority?
I know the government was elected to act on OUR behalf, but involvement in a WAR without election? Parliamentary authority (legislation)? The Governor General’s Approval?
The King’s?
This is when the COLONIAL question comes into play because the King still rules us. My Husband and I debate the point because he talks the BNA Act and the 1982 Constitution and I call it Charades because we have a Governor General who acts on the King’s behalf, even when only under Parliamentary or Prime Ministerial advisement. Most pointedly, we have live with the consequences of problems (the Indigenous Treaties, particularly) of which origins we, Canadians, had no control and aren’t enabled to solve.
(Most of us would give back the land and figure something new out, so, the foundations of our country would not be premised on theft.)
Like the Palestinians? Suffering from Initiatives formalized with the Balfour agreement? Consequences of the ambitions of the London Zionist Club, 1802? But, most pointedly, who were also colonized.
Something is very wrong with us to send weapons to Israel to attack a fellow colonized People.
And, NO MPs question it?
Heather McPherson, ndp, apparently did, but she also initiated UNANIMOUS support for Ukraine. So, supporting n$#@, but condemning zionists. Principled? Or, opportunistic?
No one in the House of Commons has actually come out and said stop killing. We shouldn’t be at War.
We just deny Ukraine’s neo-n$#@ government and condemn Russia. And, fill the press with stories everybody is spying on us. Why would they? Our country is just obedient.
That n$#@ ovation destroyed Parliament, every MP applauded, and then apologized to Ukraine for doing so.
What about us? CANADIANS?
Our Soldiers died fighting n$#@, we now pretend aren’t in Ukraine. Canadians fought and died at Dunkirk. Some of OURs actually were imprisoned in Poland. I do not think any MP gets it.
Which then leads to the nonsense about money no one will account for…$10 Billion dollars to Ukraine for no legitimate reason but NO money for Health, School or Transport…
And, a switch to the cons is better because they are not liberal? Account for the ‘donation?’ They are all the same, I tell you. We need a re-set on so many levels…
PS for good measure Clean Slate
