Come Together
Super quick morning post…and timing. First, my priority is no n$#@s, I don’t particularly like Mark Carney, but he’s not a n$#@. I definitely don’t like Jean Charest, but again, not a n$#@.
So, this caught my eye minutes ago: https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/mark-carney-jean-charest-1.7479798. A lib offering a con a job probably because they both advocate the IRBO.
Most important line in the piece: no one is going to stand up for us in the way that we have to stand up for ourselves…said by Charest.
So, a con Leadership figure in a lib government? To collaborate?
I suspect all the political parties can cooperate on the premises no one involved ie all current party MPs, is a n$#@, no parties have time to vet candidates (so, all have to fall back on retired ones) and they are all capitalists. More in common than disagree? I don’t know.
Canada needs a re-set. I advocate a Clean Slate approach: https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/business/2020/05/09/a-clean-slate-3
But, I like this collaborative idea: kind of an intermediary approach to proportional representation in government which the libs had already promised. It seems crazy for the political parties to cooperate but the Government of the Northwest Territories ALREADY has a consensus approach to government, individuals not parties, so, it’s not like a framework doesn’t exist: https://www.ntlegislativeassembly.ca/legislative-business/how-legislative-assembly-works/consensus-government and could be temporarily modified. In a rush?
Pie in the sky? Desperate times call for desperate measures.
Weirdly kind of good? Mind, I’d want neither to touch the books. cons are so bad with money, and the libs just a little bit less so.
