Aslan is in the Move
Things are happening, just not quite the way expected.
This post is heavily biased, my views, so, forgive if I overstep.
I read this, this morning: https://www.rt.com/news/604448-iran-muslim-boycott-israel/. The Iranian Faith Leader has requested ALL countries sharing the same Faith halt all trade with Israel. To quote: Today, the first step to increasing the unity of the Islamic world against this criminal, terrorist gang that has usurped the land of Palestine is for Islamic countries to completely cut off economic ties with it. This is the least that can be done.
My broader news stuff usually comes from India, so, which news confirmed the story
And, the broader point to remember is before October 7, 2023, Saudi Arabia and Israel were set to normalize relations.
HAMAS, probably, acted October 7 to thwart things, but Israel’s over the top reaction—the genocide of Palestinians, has been defended as a response to an isolated incident, rather than contextualized in the general history of the region.
Careful, in my perspective, I am anti-zionist. Not a Religious perspective, but opposition to a political ideology. So, politically, I see the HAMAS action as entirely justified in the historical context.
And, Saudi Arabia’s original quest for greater trade? I don’t follow Saudi Arabia, didn’t know about the normalizing of relations with Israel. What I do figure is October 7 made them act—respond to Israel’s over the top behaviour. Maybe Mohammed Bin Salman was waiting for things to calm down to re-establish trade negotiations? I don’t know. I do know the pager massacre changed everything.
Saudi Arabia now has a very legitimate reason to no longer to trade with Israel. No one is going to trade with Israel.
No one is going to trade with the West, and any rhetoric countering that view is, literally, vacuous. Hot air.
The Houthi were already preventing international trade with Israel, but Israeli PM Netenyahu and the Mossad just destroyed the rest of the Israeli market. No trust with them going forward.
Iran’s Religious Leader just rahsodized about the obvious. Who will trade with the country anymore? Even among its allies?
The Israeli economic collapse is inevitable. Thereby evoking questions of those asked to defend the country? Really? I suggest everyone in the West has had their world shattered, just most don’t realize it, yet.
And, a ps, about Canada, we were colonized, not a colonial power and our knuckleheads need to remember that.
